SIO Visit to NIC Lakshadweep UT Centre-Kavaratti on 11th to 14th Nov 2024
Dr. Suchitra Pyarelal, Deputy Director General & State Informatics Officer (SIO) for Kerala & Lakshadweep visited NIC Lakshadweep UT Centre in Kavaratti from 11th to 14th of November 2024. During her visit, she held meetings with Senior Officers of the UT Administration and reviewed the implementation of various projects in the UT of Lakshadweep.

SIO interacted with the NIC team of Kavaratti and Kochi to assess the infrastructure availability and the network connectivity provided to the UT Administration. During the visit, SIO had series of meetings with senior functionaries of various department under the UT administration. In the meeting with Shri. Rahul Singh IAS, Secretary (IT), the need for migrating to Cloud services, development of end to end Service Delivery Platform were discussed. Secretary (IT) requested for concerted efforts and support of NIC for ushering in a digital mode of working in UTL. Subsequently, she held discussions with Shri. Vikranth Raja IAS, Secretary (Ports) on the new platform for Ticketing system and introduction of ePAR through SPARROW.

The PDS system and areas that needed to be taken up was discussed with Shri. Arjun Mohan IAS, Secretary (Health & Social Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies). SIO met Dr. Shrikant R. Tapdiya DANICS, Director(Health) to discuss the implementation and progress of NextGen eHospital in the UT. Director(Health) requested the support of NIC to migrate the DVDMS application implemented in the hospitals of Lakshadweep to NextGen eHospital.
DDG & SIO were reviewed the activities of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lakshadweep UT Unit, Kavaratti. She re-allocated projects, forming sector-specific teams for better management. She emphasized the importance of technical upgradation and proposed creating an annual training calendar for UT administration officials to enhance their skills.
